Ted finds the Palo Verde Arch.
It was one of those days when everything goes right! 15 people turned out for my Hat Top Hill hike, although only 8 had signed up for it. The weather was sunny and pleasantly cool. I got them to the top of the hill and then to the Palo Verde Arch on our way down.

Hat Top Hill is a bright golden formation of Tertiary rhyolite in the southern Goldfields, wearing a hat at a jaunty angle. We got there on FR 1356, a primitive road through the ranching country. The hill itself is off trail, so I took them bushwhacking to a pass north of the hat.
