the hike     We will start the hike from the big parking lot. While on the Go John trail, we will have views of the Tonto National Forest and an abandoned mine shaft.
We did this hike a few months ago and everyone enjoyed it. We go up the Go John Trail and then past the bench we head left. The Maricopa Trail runs along here and the scenery is spectacular no matter what time of year we go. Because of the heat, we are only planning to go 4 miles but if its a cool day and the group decides we can venture farther on Maricopa Trail. It will be an up and back route. Restrooms available.
