Peavine trail is located in Prescott, Arizona. This is a relatively flat and wide trail
with lots of historic value. It only has 460 feet of elevation change, but it is beautiful
and scenic. The trail starts at an industrial area passing the edge of Watson lake.
It offers an outstanding view of Watson Lake and Granite Mountain.
The trail was originally built by the Santa Fe Railway in 1893, where it was used as a railroad, later it was converted into the trail that we have today. The Peavine Trail connects with the Iron King Trail and a few other side trails. The club has not done this hike before, so it will be an exploratory hike. If anyone wants to volunteer as deputy leader, I will offer a short version of the hike. Required: • Sturdy hiking boots • At least 3 liters of water • Hat, sunblock, sunglasses Recommended: • Lunch or snacks • Camera |
