Lost Dog Wash Trailhead is one of the major access points for the southern Preserve, providing shorter and easier trails that wander around and across a natural desert wash.
The terrain is mostly rocky with moderate ups and downs. With the recent rain in the area, the desert seems to have come to life with more color and rich vegetation. The trail parallel the Lost Dog Wash north from TH to the Taliesin Overlook
The group did this loop configuration last summer and it proved to be a scenic and rewarding exploration.
