South Mountain Park/Preserve, at 16,000 acres and with more than 50 miles of
trails, is one of the largest city parks in the nation.
This hike will start on the Ma-Ha-Tauk Trail, connect to the Derby Loop, then to the Ranger Trail up to the National Trail. The hike is out and back, approximately 6 miles and 1,200 feet elevation gain. Pace will be about 2 mph. Most of the hike will be on maintained trails but short easy bushwhacking is possible. |
