Piestewa Trails Day Hike

when	Trip Report : June 24, 2021
where	Phoenix Mountain Preserve
the hike	NOTE: This hike will NOT be to the top of Piestewa Peak.     Neil Dennis will lead this hike. We have pre-hiked and measured a four mile loop, which offers a nice mix of ups and downs with viewpoints.     Trails are Freedom Trail, Nature Trail, 8B and Quartz Line, rejoining the Nature and then back to the Freedom Trail.     Extensive upgrades are being done on the parking for the PIestewa area. We’ll start from the upper most parking lot, where we will see the work in progress and the beginning of a brand new trail.     It’s hot outside, so be sure to hydrate before, during and after the journey. We will complete our scenic loop by 8:00 AM and be back to the AC with exercise done for the day.

drive	•  On Squaw Peak Dr., proceed all the way to the last parking lot. Turn left. • Park near the restrooms. We will be there to greet you before 6:00 AM.
