Hello hikers! Is anyone up for a sunrise hike? Please join me at the Sunrise Trailhead
in the McDowells before sunrise at 5:45 AM, Wednesday April 13, 2022. This is when
they open the gate. Limit 7 hikers as it has a small parking lot. Extra parking is
¼ mile down the road. The trail is very rocky and slippery with loose gravel in
some areas. There are no restrooms.
It is predicted to be a cooler day Wednesday and a beautiful morning hiking into this
little canyon.

If you are coming in from the north of Shea, take the 101 to Shea and take a left
(go east) 5 miles and Turn left onto N 136th St, then right on Via Linda, go to the
end of street - just before the gated community. The gate to the trailhead will be on
your left.

If you are coming from the south, take the 101 north to Shea exit and make a right
(east) go 5 miles and Turn left onto N 136th St, then right on Via Linda, go to the end
of street - just before the gated community. The gate to the trailhead will be on your
left.

From Mesa or Gilbert you can also take Hwy 87 N to Shea and go west (left) to
136th St. Then see above.
