There were 21 of us on this hike. We met at the Brown’s Ranch
Trailhead, which is in the northern region of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
|
Along the trail.
It was a great opportunity to explore this part of the McDowell Preserve, as
most of us have not done much hiking here.
The place was quite busy with hikers, bikers and horse riders.
We took off pretty quickly to warm up and to beat the rush.
The trail was gently sloping, and as we wound our way up towards
Brown’s Mountain we had some wonderful views.
|
Most of us took the short, albeit steep, hike up Browns Mountain,
Elevation 3,253'.
|
Others preferred to sit on the overlook and enjoy the view.
|
Interestingly enough, part of the hike passed through an area with large
boulders and rocks,
|
Plenty of boulders and rocks around here.
|
Brown’s Ranch is a popular place with equestrians.
|
This was definitely a popular place for horse riders.
Overall the hike was 6.5 miles with about 900 feet elevation change.
Thanks again to everyone for joining us.
