On a beautiful sunny morning 6 hikers met at the eastern end of the Lost Goldmine TH.
The hikers were Peggy, Tish, Kaye, Andrew, Ralph, and
the leader Bruce. Starting at 9 AM we made our way to the Wave Cave for short break.
Two hikers returned from there while four of us started bushwhacking up the ravine toward the
Superstition Ridgeline. Once there we hiked the rolling ridgeline for about ¾ mile or more before
turning to the Three Sisters Peaks. Once there we enjoyed the stunning views while having a brief
lunch break.

Leaving the peaks, we backtracked the ridgeline trail toward the top of Carney Springs. The trail
back divided several times and although we got off the main trail a few times we always returned to
the main trail. We stopped at the top of Carney Springs for a rest break. Bruce proposed an
alternative extension to the planned descent of Carney. The option was to visit the Robbers Roost
and descend the Peralta trail. This would extend the hike about 2 miles or so. After everyone
agreed we headed to the infamous Robbers Roost. We knew the day was getting late so after a
brief stop at the Roost we headed for the Fremont Saddle. From there we headed down to the
Peralta parking area. Since we parked at the Lost Goldmine TH we had to walk the road back to
the car, getting there about 5:45 PM. Total stats for the hike were about 11.2 miles and 3,152 ft.
of elevation gain.

One note. If you ever park at the Lost Goldmine TH, police the ground for old rusty nails that are
in the large parking lot. We picked up 20-30 various size nails while walking through the lot.
