Our trip took us north from Queen Valley on Elephant Butte Rd. The road (track? trail? route?) took us almost all the way to Dripping Springs on the edge of the Superstition Wilderness area. Along the way we inspected a cluster of rocks marked as ruins on our maps. Most to the route was fairly easy though we did encounter several tough spots.

Afterward, we ate lunch at the El Guapo Burro in Queen Valley, which was good. We will eat there again. A warm, fun, and adventurous Jeeping day in the desert!

Huge thanks to our leader Robert and our fearless driver Rich. With their experience, knowledge, preparation, and built-in walking GPS brains, we know we can go anywhere, anytime, and anyplace with them behind the wheel.

As a club, we are planning a trip to Northern Arizona and Southern Utah next spring. Since 4x4 driving will be a big part of the adventure, it is important for us to know our vehicles, build confidence, and learn to rely on each other as a team. This was the perfect pre-trip practice and training day. Yes, it was hot out there, in the 90s — but honestly, you can not find a better way to enjoy the Arizona summer heat than spending it with great people, beautiful desert scenery, and a little off-road adventure.
